Medford UDT-1 Black PVD S45VN, Black G10, Black PVD Hardware, Kydex sheath, fixed knife

The Medford UDT-1 Black G10 is a cool fixed knife, made in the United States. The name UDT stands for: Underwater Demolition Team. A special navy unit that was active from 1942 up to 1983.

The Medford UDT-1 looks a lot like the Thorn neck knife. But only bigger. The wharncliffe blade is enhanced with a pointed tip for the more detailed tasks. With a cutting edge of 8.9 cm you have enough length at your disposal for daily tasks. Use it as a survival knife, hang it from your bugout-bag, take it with you when out in the field or place it in your showcase.

The blade is made from CPM S45VN steel. The hollow grind on the blade was applied by hand. This is a unique feature: only few producers apply a hollow grind by hand. CPM S45VN is a premium, stainless type of steel. For years, this has been one of the most popular types of steel on the market. For a stainless steel, it is fairly tough and relatively easy to sharpen. The handle is made from G10.
