TOPS Knives ALRT-01, necker

The TOPS ALRT-01 is a small neck knife designed for emergencies. You could say that knives don’t get any simpler than this: a sheet of steel with a sharp edge. However, if you look a little more closely, you’ll see that this knife has been well thought out. Grip serrations, also known as jimping, have been applied in all the right places. A hole has been drilled into the centre of the handle. Partly to save weight, but also so you can put a finger through it, giving you an excellent grip on this small knife.


The knife is made from 1095 carbon steel. The black traction coating on the steel helps to prevent rust. In terms of shape, this knife is reminiscent of a Japanese Kiridashi. Simple and sleek, without any frills that would make the knife weaker. A discreet plastic sheath is included so you can carry it with you. TOPS suggests that you can hang it on a key ring, wear it as a neck knife, or hang it in the car. This way, you will always have it close at hand whenever you might need it.
