The Artisan Cutlery Xcellerator is a beast of a knife. Its design is reminiscent of the claw of a prehistoric predator. The handle is carefully designed to perfectly match the powerful blade, which is an interesting mix between a drop-point and clip-point. Designer Mike Snody is known for his masterful craftsmanship, especially when it comes to blade designs, and the Xcellerator is a prime example. As such, this knife is anything but a low-profile pocket knife. With its impressive appearance, the Xcellerator is excellent as a slicer for everyday cutting tasks. Thanks to its robustness and drop-point shape, it is also ideal for outdoor activities such as woodworking and food prep. When closed, the pocket knife is nicely compact, making it pleasant to carry in your pocket.

Blade made of AR-RPM9 steel
AR-RPM9 is a steel developed specifically for knives by the experts at CJRB. Thanks to its powder technology, AR-RPM9 offers a nice combination of hardness and toughness. The main advantage of AR-RPM9 is something else, though. CJRB has extensively tested AR-RPM9. What stood out most during these months of testing was AR-RPM9’s exceptional ease of sharpening. Even after tough tasks that made the blade completely dull, it took only a few minutes to get it razor-sharp again. And unlike many other steels with this trait, AR-RPM9 retains that sharpness for an extraordinarily long time.
Micarta handle
The handle of this Artisan Cutlery Xcellerator is made of micarta and measures 12.7 cm in length. Micarta is a great material for pocket knife handles. This material is grippy, relatively lightweight and it looks very cool. It is composed of fabric fibres and synthetic resin. The resulting layers often even make micarta look a bit like wood. However, it is a very stable and strong material.
