CPM-M4 blade

The Benchmade Mini Freek is enhanced with a compact and manageable blade made from CPM-M4 steel. This is a tool steel with great sharpness retention. M4 is also really tough and, when compared to other types of super steel, relatively easy to sharpen. The only thing you need to pay attention to is rust: CPM M4 isn’t corrosion resistant. To counterbalance this, Benchmade enhanced the blade with a black Cerakote coating. This coating was originally developed to finish firearms, meaning that it is also strong enough for a knife.

G10 handle

Benchmade exchanged the budget option of Versaflex for G10 to produce the handle. And not just any G10: G10 with grey and black layers, with a thick integrated red liner. This adds some weight, but also ensures that the Benchmade Super Freek feels a little sturdier.

You open the Benchmade Feeek with the double thumb stud and Benchmade’s famous Axis lock locks the blade when opened. This combination is perfect because it can be used by both left and right-handed users. The pocket clip can be placed on either side of the handle. The pocket clip is placed for right-handed use, but with the Torx T6 screwdriver you can easily change it for left-handed use.
