Case Canoe 65029 Jigged Buffalo Horn BH2131 SS pocket knife

The Case Canoe is a traditional pocket knife. It’s very stylish and incredibly practical. The name comes from the design of the canoe. When you look at it from the side, you’ll see the resemblance. The protrusions on both sides that make it look like a canoe also have a function. These protrusions ensure that the slightly sharp back of the blade doesn’t get caught behind your pocket. Well thought-out!




You open the Case Knives with two hands. To make this easier, there’s a nail nick which gives you a little extra grip using your fingernail. This pocket knife is not equipped with a full lock, only with a slipjoint mechanism. This provides some resistance to prevent the knife from snapping shut during normal use. However, if you press on the spine of the blade, the knife will shut.



Case Tru-Sharp SS steel
The blade is made of Case Tru-Sharp SS. This is a stainless steel that is actually the same as 420HC steel. This steel allows for fast sharpening, making it easy to maintain a sharp edge.



The blade has been polished, this is a premium blade finish that leaves no room for error. A polished blade ensures minimal friction while cutting, making the knife cut like a dream.



Handle made from buffalo horn
The handle of this Case Knives is made from buffalo horn, a luxurious material that can be different shades of black to light brown. Being a natural material, colour variations are to be expected.



Traditional: the Canoe pattern
The Canoe is a popular pocket knife type because it actually solves a well-known ‘problem’ with slipjoint pocket knives. Often, when closed, part of the tang protrudes from the blade. This is a tad sharp, which is not nice when reaching into your pocket. The Canoe features bolsters that stick out a bit to cover that sharp corner. It comes with an additional advantage: it makes the handle look like a canoe, hence the name.
