Casström Safari Mini Hunter 11618, Stabilised Curly Birch Kydex, fixed knife, Alan Wood design

The Casström Safari was designed as a compact hunting knife for smaller game. We do, however, feel it is also perfect as a fixed EDC knife. In terms of size and finish the Safari is truly a very beautiful knife.

The Casström Safari was designed by Alan Wood. This British knife maker has quite the reputation. He is mostly known for his cooperations with Ray Mears. The amazing performances and ergonomics are definitely not coincidental: Wood knows what he is doing.

The blade is made from Swedish Sandvik 14C28N steel. Stainless and easy to sharpen. Incredibly practical. The handle is very comfortable, as you’ve come to expect from Casström. Even during long-term use it will feel great in hand. We appreciated the fact that you have a lot of control over the relatively short blade.

The handle is made of Stabilised Curly Birch, which is birch wood that is pressure-filled with epoxy. This gives you the look of wood and the stability of a composite. The tapered tang is striking and rare for a production knife. This means that Casström tapered the part of the knife in between the handle towards the end of the handle. This looks great and also ensures that the balance is perfect.

The Casström Safari comes with a kydex sheath.
