MG AD20S blade

This MG AD20S knife has a blade made from CPM 20CV steel. This is a premium type of powdered steel, which means that the steel has a very fine structure. This steel retains its sharpness well and is easy to sharpen. CPM 20CV is also very corrosion resistant.

The clip-point blade shape has a pointy tip, making it suitable for a large range of cutting tasks. From everyday use like opening packages to tactical use or hunting activities. The ‘MG’ in the name stands for ‘Machine Ground’. This means that the grind was applied by a machine. The ‘S’ in the name stands for ‘Slim’. This means the knife has a thinner blade than the standard AD20 which significantly boosts the knife’s cutting capacity.

Shark-Lock mechanism

The Shark Lock mechanism is located at the spine of the knife and is operated through the fin-shaped protrusion or ramp, to which the lock owes its name. By opening the blade, the lock moves up a bit, after which a spring presses it into an indent in the tang of the blade. This indentation of the blade is located below a secondary stop pin, causing the lock to clamp itself between the blade and the pin. This ensures a super-tough lock. You disable the lock by pulling the Shark Lock backwards. The mechanism is very smooth, so the knife has a high fidget-factor.

MG AD20S handle

The MG AD20S is available in lots of handle materials. This version is made from G10, a composite material made from glass fibres and epoxy resin. This material is durable, strong and lightweight, and it’s resistant to moisture, chemicals and extreme temperatures.

You can easily carry the MG AD20S in your pocket with the pocket clip. A second pocket clip is supplied for left-handed use. A cool little detail is the pivot screw. On the show side it says ‘Demko Knives’, and on the clip side it says ‘Wampum PA’. Wampum is the city in Pennsylvania where Demko Knives is located. ‘PA’ is the abbreviation of Pennsylvania.
