DMT DiaSharp Diamond Mini-Hone Kit, set of 3, D2K

This DMT DiaSharp Kit is comprised of three diamond-coated mini hones/files. The three files are enhanced with three different-coloured handles, corresponding with a specific grain size: blue (coarse), red (fine) and green (extra fine). The Dia-Sharp mini-hones are nice and narrow, and incredibly practical for reaching difficult-to-reach spots. But also to sharpen smaller tools. Due to the ergonomically-shaped handles they are amazing to use.


Grain size DMT DiaSharp Mini-Hones


This kit contains three files with the following grain sizes:


Coarse (blue, 45 micron / 325. mesh): to quickly restore a blunt edge.

Fine (red, 25 micron / 600 mesh): to sharpen already sharp knives.

Extra fine (green, 9 micron / 1200 mesh): to polish and sharpen a razor-sharp edge.






How to use the DMT DiaSharp Mini-Hones


You can use the DMT sharpening stones with or without water. The advantage of sharpening with water is that the stone is lubricated and the sharpening residue is removed. Only use water, never oil. It is also good to know that diamond need to be ‘pre-sharpened’. Only after 5 to 10 knives the diamond will function as it should.
