The shape of the blade might remind you of a classic butcher’s knife. Not a coincidence, of course. When gutting game this shape is perfect. The belly of the edge is quite remarkable to make sure you can quickly get the job done. The handle is ergonomically shaped. The large finger groove at the front of the handle ensures you won’t slip and end up on the blade.



The blade is made from 1095 carbon steel. This type of steel is very tough and easy to sharpen. It is, however, not completely stainless. That is why recommend occasionally adding a drop of oil to the blade. The toughness of this steel matches Ashley Emerson’s design and user’s philosophy. Primarily a knife is meant to be used for the normal cutting tasks. But it is also a tool. Even though we don’t recommend it, Emerson believes that in case of an emergency you should also be able to dig a hole with your knife. Yes, that means it will become blunt. However, 1095 won’t easy break. And you can always sharpen your knife. A survival philosophy for a hunting knife. Perfectly in line with how ESEE produces its knives.



The ESEE AGK Ashley Game Knife comes with a nice leather sheath. It is enhanced with a belt loop with enough room for belts up to 5.8 cm.
