Fenix E28R V2.0 rechargeable EDC flashlight, 1700 lumen

The Fenix E28R V2.0 rechargeable EDC flashlight is the new and improved version of the popular E28R. It’s still a small and practical torch that always comes in handy, but now with some improved features. More lumens, a larger beam reach and a longer battery life! This compact torch has an excellent output of 1700 lumens and a maximum beam range of 273 m. It weighs only 128 grams, and that is including battery. You can easily take it with you wherever you go. Use the clip to attach it to your belt or bag. With the magnetic bottom you can attach it to metal surfaces, which is useful when doing odd jobs or in case of car trouble. Note:When you receive the flashlight, there will still be a protective cap on the battery. Unscrew the housing and remove this cap before use.

How to use the E28R V2.0

The controls have pretty much remained the same. You use this flashlight by clicking the button on the side. By holding it down 0.5 seconds the light will turn on or off. Pressing the button once and you will switch to another mode. If you hold the button down for approx. 1.2 second you activate the stroboscope mode. Quickly double-click the button and you activate the travel lock, all to make sure you don’t accidentally turn it on in your bag. While the lamp is off, pressing the button three times quickly switches to ‘Pulse’ or beacon mode.

Light modes of the Fenix E28R V2.0

Turbo: 1700 lumens, burn time of approx. 2 hours and 10 minutes
High: 600 lumens, burn time of approx. 2 hours and 50 minutes
Medium: 150 lumens, burn time of approx. 17 hours and 15 minutes
Low: 50 lumens, burn time of approx. 36 hours and 50 minutes
Eco: 5 lumens, burn time of approx. 260 hours
Strobe: 1700 lumens
Pulse/beacon: 1 lumen

The burn time of the highest light mode is calculated at the moment the lamp is switched on in the highest mode. After 2-3 minutes, the light automatically switches to a lower mode due to the temperature regulation.

Charging the E28R V2.0

The light gets its power from the included 3400 MAh 18650 rechargeable Li-ion battery. You leave the battery inside; you charge the light via the USB-C port on the light itself. In only three hours the light will be fully charged. This torch also runs on 2 CR123A lithium batteries. The battery indicator tells you when it’s time to charge.

Prevent a too deeply discharged battery

Are you not using your flashlight for a while? Always make sure to unscrew the tail cap a little bit. This prevents your battery from becoming too deeply discharged. Even when the light is off, it still draws some power from the battery. A battery that is too deeply discharged often cannot be recharged. That would be a shame!

Do you have a torch with built-in battery where you cannot remove the battery? Make sure to charge the light at least once every 3-4 months, even when not in use. This also prevents the battery from discharging too deeply, and it is good for the lifespan of your battery!

Intelligent protection

If you use the turbo mode for a longer period of time the light will start to heat up. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or higher the light will automatically reduce the amount of lumens to also reduce the temperature.
