Fenix HP35R-SAR Search & Rescue, rechargeable head torch for helmet, 4000 lumens

This Fenix HP35R-SAR Search & Rescue is a high-tech head torch developed for search and rescue, providing up to 4000 lumens of light with a range of 450 metres. It is a versatile and reliable head torch for those who need the best lighting in challenging conditions.

Fenix HP35R vs. HP35R-SAR

The SAR version is made to be worn on top of a helmet and comes with a heat-resistant silicone strap, a helmet mount and helmet clips. The standard version is for use without a helmet and has a perforated elastic band.

Fenix HP35R LEDs

The Fenix HP35R contains 3 LEDs. Two warm Luminus SST20 LED lights for a broad beam at short distances and one white, neutral XHP70 LED light with a large reflector for long distances. You can also activate all three LEDs simultaneously for the most light output. This allows you to choose the appropriate beam for each situation. After all, at your base camp at dusk you need less range than when you have to search a forest in pitch darkness.

How to use the Fenix HP35R

You operate the Fenix HP35 with the rotary switch on the side of the head torch. Switch between the three light modes by turning the switch. The button on the side of the switch lets you choose the desired output: low, medium, high or turbo.

Light modes for the Fenix HP35R

Spotlight mode:

Turbo: 3000 lumens, burn time of approx. 5 hours and 43 minutes Range of 440 metres.
High: 800 lumens, burn time of approx. 11 hours and 40 minutes. Range of 230 metres.
Medium: 350 lumens, burn time of approx. 28 hours and 24 minutes. Range of 151 metres.
Low: 50 lumen, burn time of approx. 120 hours. Range of 56 metres.

Floodlight mode:

Turbo: 1200 lumens, burn time of approx. 8 hours Range of 122 metres.
High: 400 lumens, burn time of approx. 30 hours and 48 minutes. Range of 68 metres.
Medium: 50 lumens, burn time of approx. 120 hours. Range of 24 metres.
Low: 5 lumens, burn time of approx. 500 hours Range of 7 metres.

Spotlight & Floodlight mode combined:

Turbo: 4000 lumens, burn time of approx. 4 hours and 17 minutes Range of 450 metres.
High: 1200 lumens, burn time of approx. 8 hours. Range of 214 metres.
Medium: 400 lumens, burn time of approx. 18 hours. Range of 153 metres.
Low: 50 lumen, burn time of approx. 120 hours. Range of 55 metres.

The burn time of the highest light mode is calculated at the moment the lamp is switched on in the highest mode. Due to the temperature regulation the light will automatically switch back to a lower mode if it reaches a temperature of 55°C or higher.

Intelligent brightness reduction function

The Fenix HP35R has an intelligent brightness reduction function to avoid potentially dangerous high temperatures in short-range lighting. When an object gets too close to the light (60 mm), the head torch automatically switches back to a lower light setting. This prevents you from accidentally burning yourself or your equipment. When the lamp head is removed from the illuminated object for more than 1.2 seconds, the head torch automatically reverts to the previously used brightness level.

Fenix HP35R battery pack

The battery pack contains two built-in 5000mAh batteries and can be used as a power bank to charge other devices. The battery pack can be carried separately (you get an extension cable with it) or on the back of the headband. A red safety light is built into the battery pack to make yourself or your location visible in an emergency. You activate this by pressing and holding the button on the side of the battery pack. Check the battery status by pressing the button once quickly.

Four lights: 100% – 80%
Three lights: 80% – 60%
Two lights: 60% – 40%
One light: 40% – 20%
One light, blinking: 20% – 1%
