The Fenix PD36 TAC flashlight is the tactical version of the popular Fenix PD36. The difference? The rotating switch on the back of this flashlight allows you to quickly switch between the tactical mode and the so-called ‘duty mode’ that are enhanced with all the available light modes of the Fenix PD36 TAC.
As such this light is perfect for law enforcement, surveillance and other professional purposes. The aluminium body is rock-solid and can handle falls up to 1 metre. The light is also completely waterproof.
In the tactical mode you can also switch between the high light mode and the turbo mode. The tactical button on the back can be used in three ways: press it shortly and you turn the light on. With it you can also select the desired light mode. If you hold the button it will turn the light on, and if you hold it down approx. 0.8 seconds it will switch to the strobe mode. With the lock-out mode you can lock the light to make sure it won’t accidentally turn on, on the road.
The Fenix PD36 TAC works with the included ARB-L21-5000U battery with a power of 5000mAh. You can charge this battery via the USB-C port on the battery, as such you never need a battery charger! The battery is protected by springs on both sides The APF (Advanced Pulse Frequency) system ensures that the flashlight has a stronger beam with only one battery.

Prevent deeply-discharged batteries
Are you not planning to use your flashlight for a while? In that case, it’s best to unscrew the tailcap (the bottom end of the handle) a few turns. This will prevent your battery from becoming too deeply discharged, which can happen if the circuit of the battery stays in contact with the flashlight without being used or recharged in the meantime.A deeply discharged battery cannot always be revived and recharged, which would be a shame!
Do you have a flashlight with a built-in battery? Then make sure to charge your flashlight at least once every 3-4 months, even when not in use. This prevents the battery from becoming too deeply discharged, and it’s also good for the lifespan of your battery!
