Fenix PD36R Pro, black, 2800 lumens, tactical flashlight

The Fenix PD36R Pro LED flashlight is a compact and rechargeable flashlight that is mostly suited for enforcement officers, security guards and tactical purposes. With a maximum light output of 2800 lumens and a beam distance of 380 meters, the PD36R Pro is a real hulk. Because of its compact size, you can easily take the flashlight with you. What’s the difference from the PD36R (the non-Pro version)

These flashlights might carry almost the same name, but there definitely are some differences. The regular PD36R has a maximum light output of 1600 lumens, and the Pro version has no less than 2800 lumens. The beam distance is also more impressive with the Pro: the regular PD36R reaches 283 meters, the Pro reaches 380 meters.

The final difference is in the buttons, and hence the controls. The PD36R has an on/off button on the back, and a button to change the light mode on the side. The Pro has both buttons on the back. One button to turn it on or off, an done to click through the light modes. The Pro version is clearly intended for tactical purposes.

How to use the Fenix PD36R Pro

The PD36R Pro has two buttons on its back. The large button turns the light on or off. If you softly press this button, the light turns on temporarily. Push the button down completely to fully turn the light on. The other button lets you click through light modes. This button also turns on the strobe mode.

Charging the Fenix PD36R Pro

The head of the light contains a USB-C port. A rubber cover ensures that the head is protected against water and dust. A such, the USB-port also cannot be damaged. Want to check the battery status while charging the light? A red-green charging indicator shows you the charging status. Each time you turn the light on the battery indicator will show you the current battery voltage. This way you can quickly see the battery status.

Light modes for the Fenix PD36R Pro

Turbo: 2800 lumens, burn time of approx. 3 hours and 30 min.
High: 1000 lumens, burn time of approx. 3 hours and 55 min.
Medium: 350 lumens, burn time of approx. 8 hours and 15 min.
Low: 150 lumens, burn time of approx. 19 hours.
Eco: 30 lumens, burn time of approx. 42 hours.
Strobe: 2500 lumens. The burn time of the highest light mode is calculated at the moment the lamp is switched on in the highest mode. After 2-3 minutes, the light automatically switches to a lower mode due to the temperature regulation.

Accessories for the Fenix PD36R Pro

The Fenix PD36R Pro comes with one Fenix 21700, 5000mAh Li-Ion battery, USB-C charging cable, wrist strap, spare O-ring and a nylon holster.

Intelligent protection

If you use the high or turbo mode for a longer period of time the light will start to heat up. When the light reaches a temperature of 60°C or higher, the light will automatically reduce the amount of lumen to also reduce the temperature. As soon, as the temperature drops you can switch back to turbo mode.
