The Gerber Affirm 1074312, Blackwashed 7Cr17Mov, Green Aluminum pocket knife is a hefty EDC knife in the colour green. With its blade length of 9.3 cm, it’s especially suited for demanding cutting tasks. This is not a compact knife! When closed, it measures 12.1 cm in length and it weighs 90 g.



Blade made of 7Cr17MoVsteel
The blade is made of 7Cr17MoV. That sounds like quite the mouthful, but it’s actually simple. It is a stainless steel, it is easy to sharpen, it offers good sharpness retention and, above all, it’s budget-friendly. In the US, 7Cr17MoV is also known as 440A steel.



The blade features a blackwashed finish. For this finish, the blade is first finished with a coating, then tumbled. This makes the blade look like it has been around for a while, kind of like jeans. A big advantage of this is that traces of use will be much less noticeable.
