GiantMouse GMF1-FS M390 fixed knife

The GiantMouse GMF1-FS M390 is a compact and practical fixed knife for daily use. It has the size of a neck knife, but comes with a nice leather sheath. You attach it your belt, or carry it in your pocket. Because of its compact size it will therefore replace your pocket knife.

For this new version of the popular GMF1, GiantMouse has used 5 mm thick Böhler M390 steel with a satin finish. The result is a robust fixed knife that can handle practically any cutting task. Each GMF1-FS comes with a handmade Italian leather sheath, designed by Ansø and Vox.




The blade of the GiantMouse GMF1-FS M390 fixed knife measures 6.6 cm in length and 5 mm in thickness. The total length is 13.8 cm.



Blade made from Böhler M390 steel
The blade of the GiantMouse GMF1-FS M390 fixed knife is made of Böhler M390. This is premium steel from Austria that is immensely popular for pocket knives, because M390 stays sharp for an incredibly long time. Moreover, it’s very stainless. This makes it an excellent choice for a pocket knife you carry with you every day. Because M390 is incredibly hard, we recommend sharpening this pocket knife with diamond sharpening stones or ceramic sharpening stones, or a sharpening system that uses these sharpening stones.



The blade of this knife is enhanced with a ‘satin finish’. This is a chic and tasteful finish that is very popular.



Designer Jens Ansø
If you think of Danish knife design, you think of Jens Ansø. This productive knifemaker has been crafting excellent knives for decades. With an extraordinary sense of aesthetics, he continues to surprise the knife world with his stunning designs. Designer Jesper Voxnæs
This GiantMouse GMF1-FS M390 fixed knife is designed by Danish knife maker Jesper Voxnæs. He is among the most prolific knife designers of recent years. Many different brands sell knives he designed. From American brands to Italian brands, to the brand he himself is involved with: GiantMouse.

Danish design runs through his veins. His style is very distinctive, and it is easy to recognize the knives he designed. Think of a specific shape for the thumb hole or the butt-end of the handle of a fixed blade. Jesper knows what works and what we knife lovers want. He incorporates this perfectly in his designs



GiantMouse Knives: born from a collaboration between designers and collector
GiantMouse was born from a collaboration between Danish knife makers Jens Ansø and Jesper Voxnæs on one side, and American collector and entrepreneur Jim Wirth on the other side. Wirth collects knives from both Danish makers. The chemistry between the three was so good that they decided to start their own knife brand together: GiantMouse. Ansø and Voxnæs do the designs and product development, Wirth handles the business end. Production is outsourced to top factories in Italy and Asia.
