The Kizer Drop Bear KI3619A1 Black 20CV, Toxic Storm Fatcarbon is a compact and practical pocket knife. You’ll immediately notice the locking mechanism. The Drop Bear is enhanced with, what Kizer calls, a ‘Clutch Lock’. This is their version of an Axis lock. A great mechanism we have seen before on Benchmade knives. It is easy to use by both left and right-handed users.




The Kizer Drop Bear KI3619A1 Black 20CV, Toxic Storm Fatcarbon, pocket knife, Azo design is a cool EDC knife in the colour yellow, green, black. With its blade length of 7.5 cm, this knife is suitable for daily cutting tasks. For example, opening boxes, peeling an apple, the odd job around the house: this pocket knife can do it all.



Opening the Kizer Drop Bear KI3619A1 Black 20CV, Toxic Storm Fatcarbon, pocket knife, Azo design with one hand is very easy thanks to the thumb stud. Once opened, the sturdy Crossbar Lock ensures that the blade is locked and won’t accidentally close during use. A cool feature of this lock is that it can be easily used by both left-handed and right-handed users.

The name ‘Crossbar Lock’ is a generic term for locks of this type. The foundation of this mechanism was the Axis Lock as developed by Benchmade. Today, several manufacturers happily make use of the same mechanism, though sometimes under different names.



Blade made of CPM 20CV steel
The blade of this Kizer Drop Bear is made of CPM 20CV steel. This is premium steel made in the United States by Crucible Industries. CPM 20CV is popular because it is very hard and therefore retains its sharpness well. Moreover, 20CV is very corrosion resistant. These features make it an excellent choice for a pocket knife. In terms of composition and use, CPM 20CV is very similar to Böhler M390, another popular steel. Because CPM 20CV is incredibly hard, we recommend sharpening this pocket knife with diamond sharpening stones or ceramic sharpening stones, or a sharpening system that uses these sharpening stones.



The blade is enhanced with a coating. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has not specified which type of coating has been applied, however, what we do know is that a coating generally protects against corrosion. However, it is always possible for the coating to start showing traces of use after a while, such as scratches. This is normal wear and tear that gives your knife character.
