The Messermeister Custom santoku is a razor-sharp and practical kitchen knife. The santoku is a kitchen knife that originates from Japan. It is the Japanese version of the European chef’s knife. This knife combines Japanese style with German robustness. Just like a chef’s knife, you use the santoku to cut meat, fish and vegetables. The dimples in the blade ensure that whatever you are cutting won’t stick to the blade.
Messermeister Custom collection
Messermeister Custom kitchen knives are a game-changer for lifestyle enthusiasts. With the Custom series, Messermeister offers you the opportunity to pimp the knives according to your preferences. How? By swapping the handles and hardware for another colour! You can therefore make the knives your own, and match them to your kitchen interior and your lifestyle.
How do you change the handle of a Messermeister Custom kitchen knife?
Changing the handle is very easy. But what do you need? Of course, you’ll need scales that are the right size, and a Torx 9 screwdriver.
For this knife, you need medium-sized scales.
Put the knife on a soft, flat surface and cover the cutting edge with a piece of tape. This reduces the risk of mishaps or accidentally damaging the edge. Loosen the screws and put them in a small container to make sure you don’t lose them. Remove the standard scales and put the new scales on the knife. Secure the screws, but not too tightly. If you tighten the screw too tightly, you increase the chance of the scales splitting or getting damaged. You don’t need glue or epoxy. And just like that, you’ve got your very own custom kitchen knife!
Custom collection materials
The blade is made from German X50 steel. This is a stainless steel with a hardness of 58 HRC. The blade has a sleek stonewashed finish. It looks great aesthetically, and it also masks traces of use well.
The handle is made from blue canvas micarta. This is made from canvas and synthetic resin. This material offers great grip in all circumstances, even when there is moisture or fruit juice on the handle. Micarta takes in all the traces of use, so the knife will become entirely unique over time!
