The Microtech MSI Standard Issue is an EDC knife with a tactical twist. The sheepsfoot blade is sleek and has the distinct style of Microtech. It’s perfect for everyday cutting tasks. Ideal for those who do not want to accumulate an extensive knife collection, but prefer to carry one high-quality knife that can be useful in different situations, such as in an urban or outdoor environment, for example. Although the Standard Issue still clearly carries the signature Microtech style, it looks less intimidating than the average tactical pocket knife.



The Microtech MSI Standard Issue 210-1FLTA, Two Tone Black M390MK, Fluted Tan Aluminum pocket knife is a hefty EDC knife in the colour desert-tan. With its blade length of 9.8 cm, it’s especially suited for demanding cutting tasks. This is not a compact knife! When closed, it measures 12.8 cm in length and it weighs 165 g.



The Microtech MSI Standard Issue 210-1FLTA, Two Tone Black M390MK, Fluted Tan Aluminum pocket knife can be opened and closed with one hand using the thumb hole and the Ram-Lok, Microtech’s very own version of the Crossbar Lock. Thanks to the single robust internal spring and X-Buttons on both sides, the knife is fully ambidextrous. Paired with precision-milled components, this ensures particularly smooth operation and reliable locking, even with heavy-duty use.



Blade made from M390MK steel

M390MK is an advanced version of the well-known Böhler M390 steel, developed through a collaboration between Microtech Knives and the Austrian steel manufacturer Böhler-Uddeholm. M390MK stands out from standard M390 with its finer grain structure and consistent quality. As a result, it retains the excellent corrosion resistance and hardness of M390, while offering improved edge retention and easier sharpening.



The blade is enhanced with a coating. Unfortunately, the manufacturer has not specified which type of coating has been applied, however, what we do know is that a coating generally protects against corrosion. However, it is always possible for the coating to start showing traces of use after a while, such as scratches. This is normal wear and tear that gives your knife character.



Aluminium handle
The handle of the Microtech MSI Standard Issue is made from aluminium. The handle measures 12.8 cm in length. Aluminium is pleasantly lightweight and easy for the manufacturer to work with. As a result, it is a very popular choice for handles. Aluminium comes in many different grades or alloys. Most manufacturers opt for one of the more durable types of aluminium for knife handles, often using the same quality as the type used for aircraft construction.
