Nitecore EDC25 rechargeable flashlight, 3000 lumens

The Nitecore EDC25 is a compact , rechargeable flashlight for everyday use. This light has a maximum light output of no less than 3000 lumens and a beam reach of 300 metres. Impressive for a flashlight the size of half a smartphone!

Nitecore EDC25 Advanced Sandwich Construction

The EDC25 features what Nitecore calls an ‘Advanced Sandwich Construction’. The sandwich housing is made of two stainless steel plates. With a carbon fibre reinforced polymer composite frame and a heat-conducting plate in between. The black steel casing is anodised to military standard HA III. Grip plates are fitted to the sides of the light for an excellent grip. The whole sandwich is secured with six sturdy screws on the sides.

The EDC25 also features a ‘Hybrid Heat Dissipation System’. You’ll find this behind the pocket clip and it is made of copper with an aluminium plate on top. This system, combined with the internal Advanced Temperature Regulation (ATR) module, ensures great heat diffusion. Since it’s located behind the clip, you won’t feel any unwanted heat while using it.

Nitecore EDC25 controls

Unlike of the OLED display on the EDC27, the EDC25 has light indicators showing the light mode and battery level. You can switch through light modes with the switch on the back. With this switch you can click through the five light modes (ultra low, low, medium, high and turbo) and also the strobe mode. Because of the heat that is generated, the burn time in the turbo mode is limited to approx. 5-7 seconds. The EDC25 features two lockout modes:

1. Half Lockout Mode (On/off button is locked, light mode button is usable)
2. Full Lockout Mode (both on/off button and light mode button are locked)

The EDC25’s 1700mAh Li-ion battery is rechargeable with the included USB-C cable. The charging port is fitted with a protective cap. This prevents dust and moisture from entering the charging port.

Last but not least, the EDC25 features an innovative pocket clip with an attachment piece. This attachment piece features ridges, making it easy to grip and take the flashlight from your pocket. Below this attachment is a cord eye for attaching a lanyard.
