The new NSU "Next Step Up" consists of a recessed latex and palate plate that places your tongue in the correct position, allowing the most novice user to understand how a diaphragm works. The original palate plate designed by Rockie Jacobsen brought a design to the market that has allowed those that have a gag reflex the ability to use a diaphragm by placing it further forward in the mouth. With the added NSU technology, it now has taken the guess work out of proper tongue placement.
