The Swiza D02 is a contemporary knife inspired by classic Swiss pocket knives. The first thing you’ll notice is the knife’s modern, ergonomic design. The innovation is easy to see when you look at the lock. You unlock the knife by pressing down the logo on the handle. Swiza has also taken left-handed users into account with a cut-out in the blade that can be used from both sides.

Maintenance-friendly materials

Swiza says that you can wash its pocket knives in the dishwasher without any negative effects. We decided to test this theory. You can read more about this here. Our conclusion is that Swiza pocket knives do remarkably well in the dishwasher. We do, however, recommend that you clean your Swiza pocket knives by hand.

Whether you decide to wash your Swiza pocket knife in the dishwasher or not, it is a wonderfully maintenance-friendly pocket knife.

Swiza tools

Knife

The blade is made from 440 stainless steel that is hardened to a Rockwell hardness of 57. You can easily open the knife with the cut-out in the blade. You also still have enough grip on the blade to open it by squeezing it and pulling it open, if you have difficulty with a nail groove opening. Once opened, the lock ensures that the knife won’t close when you don’t want it to. Classic Swiss pocket knives don’t have a lock. You unlock the blade by pressing the Swiss cross. This pushes aside the latch that keeps the blade open. You can then close the blade.

Awl

What do you use an awl for? For all the things you wouldn’t use the tip of your knife for! The awl is sharpened on one side, so it is highly suitable for making marks on wood. Which side of the line should you follow when you’ve marked something with a pencil? With an awl, you don’t have to worry about this problem. An awl is also very practical for pricking into soft metals. You can use it to mark out where you should drill, for instance. And when you’ve finished the renovations and it’s time to uncork the champagne, an awl also comes in handy for removing the foil from the cork!

Phillips head screwdriver

The pocket knife is equipped with a Phillips screwdriver, also known as a cross head screwdriver. The screwdriver is located on the spine of the pocket knife. This ensures you have a comfortable grip while using it.

Tweezers

The tweezers on a Swiss pocket knife are often used to remove splinters. The advantage of these tweezers is that the head is already bevelled. This means the tweezers already have a ‘tip’, perfect for detailed tasks. You can use the full width of the tweezers by tilting them slightly.
