Work Sharp Ken Onion Blade Grinding Attachment

With this expansion for the WorkSharp Multi Sharpener, Ken Onion Edition you transform your Multi Sharpener into a larger model belt sander. Particularly ‘heavy sharpeners’ will be able to appreciate the larger grinding belts. Also the larger freedom of sharpening makes that everyone can achieve exactly the desired result. The sharpening angle is infinitely adjustable between 10 and 35 degrees. The indication can be read as accurate as 1 degree. The horizontal plateau on the grinding attachment helps as a reference in order to maintain your knife in a proper horizontal position. You have a perfect view on what and how you are sharpening. The Multi Sharpener with the Blade Grinding Attachment distinguishes itself from a ‘normal’ belt sander because of the well adjustable speed of the grinding belt. You prevent overheating of the steel and you can perfectly dose the sharpening speed.




The sharpening machine is delivered including a set of five grinding belts. The grit size ranges from extremely coarse (approximately 120) to very fine (approximately 12000). These grinding belts are actually identical to the belts Ken Onion uses on his full-size sharpening machine. The grits of the belt will gradually degrade during the use so new grits will appear again. That means you are practically always sharpening on a fresh belt. This process continues until the carrier of the belt becomes visible. If that happens the belt has to be replaced. In practice this will take longer than you may expect.
