The Real Steel Pathfinder FFG 7851GB, Blackwash, Green G10 is a hefty pocket knife for outdoor activities and EDC (Everyday Carry). The Pathfinder is a masterpiece designed by renowned designer Ivan D. Braginets. This is the flat-grind (FFG: full-flat-grind) version of the Real Steel Pathfinder. This flat grind makes this version better suited for cutting tasks such as food prep and opening packages.




The Real Steel Pathfinder FFG 7851GB, Blackwash, Green G10 pocket knife, Ivan D. Braginets design is a hefty EDC knife in the colour olive-green. With its blade length of 9.5 cm, it’s especially suited for demanding cutting tasks. This is not a compact knife! When closed, it measures 12.8 cm in length and it weighs 138 g.



Opening the Real Steel Pathfinder FFG 7851GB, Blackwash, Green G10 pocket knife, Ivan D. Braginets design with one hand is very easy thanks to the thumb stud. Once opened, the sturdy Crossbar Lock ensures that the blade is locked and won’t accidentally close during use. A cool feature of this lock is that it can be easily used by both left-handed and right-handed users.

The name ‘Crossbar Lock’ is a generic term for locks of this type. The foundation of this mechanism was the Axis Lock as developed by Benchmade. Today, several manufacturers happily make use of the same mechanism, though sometimes under different names.



Blade made of Sandvik 14C28N steel
The blade of the Real Steel Pathfinder FFG 7851GB, Blackwash, Green G10 pocket knife, Ivan D. Braginets design is made of 14C28N. This is an excellent knife steel from Sweden. It is corrosion resistant, retains its sharpness well, is quite tough and easy to sharpen yourself. What more could you possibly want?



The blade features a blackwashed finish. For this finish, the blade is first finished with a coating, then tumbled. This makes the blade look like it has been around for a while, kind of like jeans. A big advantage of this is that traces of use will be much less noticeable.



G10 handle

G10 is a composite material made of glass fibre and synthetic resin. With its subtle texture, G10 feels great in hand and offers plenty of grip.
